The excitement surrounding bridleless riding continues to grow, with the British Bridleless Competition helping to bring this remarkable form of horsemanship into the spotlight. By challenging riders to compete without a bridle in both jumping and dressage classes, the event places trust, communication and the relationship between horse and rider firmly at the centre of the arena.
Following the success of the inaugural competition in May 2026, which attracted more than 20 combinations, 500 spectators, and went viral on social media, anticipation is building for the next chapter in this innovative event, which will take place at Bury Farm on 15th November.
With interest in bridleless riding continuing to grow, the competition offers an exciting opportunity to celebrate a different dimension of equestrian sport. Each combination brings its own story, showcasing the importance of balance, subtle aids and a deep understanding between horse and rider.
As the sport looks ahead, the British Bridleless Competition is helping to open up new conversations about horsemanship, performance and the many ways riders can develop partnerships with their horses. For fans, competitors and curious newcomers alike, there is plenty to be excited about.
