The Longines Masters Series begins its incredible journey across three continents with the European stage in Paris on 29 November to 2 December.
Grand Slam
The Longines Masters – in Paris, Hong Kong and New York – form the Grand Slam Indoor of Showjumping, which is one of one of the most prestigious series in the world. It brings together the showjumping elite, who battle it out for big money.
Inspired by the legendary Grand Slam in tennis it awards a €1m bonus to any rider who can achieve three consecutive Longines Grand Prix victories, from one season to the next. There is also the Super Grand Slam, with an incredible €2.25m going to the rider who can achieve win all three Grand Prix, in the same season.
No rider has ever won either of these tough tournaments, so will 2019 finally see a victor?
The season kicks off in Paris at the Salon du Cheval, where the series first started. It is now a highlight in the French capital’s sporting calendar, with around 200,000 visitors, including top TV and movie stars and big names in business.
World class showjumping
There is four days of world class showjumping, with highlights including the Longines Grand Prix, the Longines Speed Challenge, and the Riders Masters Cup. The Masters Cup is a new innovative showjumping competition between the United States and Europe.
Last year Germanys’ Daniel Deusser won the Longines Grand Prix, with Cornet d’Amour. So who will take the big prize in Paris this year and become a Grand Slam contender?
