World no. 1 showjumper Richard Vogel is set to make history this week if he wins the CPKC ‘International’, presented by Rolex 2026 at Spruce Meadows, Calgary, taking place on 13th September. The German rider is currently the Rolex Grand Slam live contender and has the opportunity to be the second rider in history to complete the sport’s ultimate test by winning three consecutive events out of the four Majors.
Here’s their winning performance at Aachen earlier in the year. Will Sunday result in the same outcome?
Having won the Rolex Grand Prix classes at both the Dutch Masters and at Aachen earlier this year, the phenomenal €1 million prize is in reach for Vogel. What would make his win all the more special is that he has completed all of the Majors this year on the same horse, United Touch S, a 2012-born Westphalian stallion. The pair are no strangers to top level competition: Vogel became European champion in 2025 with United Touch S, and they represented Germany at the Paris Olympics, and recently helped Germany to secure Team Gold at the World Championships 2026.
Spruce Meadows is known for its huge international ring, technical tracks and big atmosphere, making this competition the ultimate test of precision, power, and performance under pressure. Vogel will arrive in Calgary knowing exactly what is at stake, with his eyes firmly set on the prize.
The Rolex Grand Prix from Spruce Meadows will be available to watch live at 8pm BST on 13th September on H&C+ for FREE here outside of Canada, and can be watched on-demand with an H&C+ membership, which starts from £7.08 per month. The Rolex Grand Prix from Spruce Meadows will also be shown live on the Horse & Country free TV Channel, accessible on various platforms or on our website.
