Martin Wood and his six-year-old bay British Riding Pony stallion, Rendene Royal Charm, have won the prestigious Cuddy Supreme In-Hand Championship at the Horse of the Year Show (9 October).
Handling success
In the ring Rendene Royal Charm’s handler Craig Elenor had cause for celebration after admitting trying for “22 years” to land such a prestigious title.
“It’s massive. I have been trying to do this for 22 years now, so it’s a big thing to win.” said Craig.
Harrogate-based owner Martin commented “It is probably one of the hardest things to do win at HOYS. It’s just brilliant, and this pony is something special,”
“The amount of work Craig and the team put in to get the pony to that standard, I am so proud of them.”
“The feeling of winning here is unbelievable, and the first thing I am going to do is celebrate with Champagne.”
Reserve Champion
The Delvin Evans and Paul Jarrett-owned horse Make My Day, was named reserve champion.
