Carl Hester joins the All Star Academy line-up

Olympic gold medallist Carl Hester has joined the line-up of experts for the Blue Chip All Star Academy, our brand new reality series sponsored by Blue Chip Feed.

H&C star

Carl is a regular on the channel, having appeared in the hit series At Home with Carl Hester, as well as the shows Carl and Charlotte: Dressage Superstars, Golden Year, Europeans 2013 and Going Dutch.

“We’re delighted that one of the horse world’s biggest stars will be part of this major new television series,” says H&C’s Head of Programming, Jonathan Rippon.

Also taking part in the series is top show producer Jayne Ross, who has won hundreds of titles in the show ring, including supreme championships at the Longines Royal International Horse Show and HOYS.

Eventer and dressage rider Daisy Coakley will be completing the panel of guest experts.

Training camp

The camp will be held at the Talland School of Equitation in Gloucestershire, with the eight candidates arriving on Wednesday 27 April ahead of a busy three days of riding, training and working through a series of challenges and modules designed to test their equestrian knowledge as well as their media and creative skills.

There will be riding lessons every day of the camp, with Pammy Hutton and her son Charlie Hutton leading the training sessions. Olympic event rider Ludwig Svennerstall will also be sharing his expertise when he gives the riders a lesson.

Pammy Hutton will be the Blue Chip All Star Academy head judge – the horse world’s answer to Alan Sugar. An international dressage rider and former event rider, Pammy is renowned as a trainer and is a Fellow of the British Horse Society. She’ll be watching our candidates throughout and judging their progress.

She’ll be joined on the judging panel by H&C presenter Jenny Rudall. A qualified riding instructor, Jenny managed the Wimbledon Village Stables in London for many years until joining the Horse & Country team and becoming the face of the channel.

Prizes

Clare Blaskey, Sheffield Business Woman of the Year and founder of the award-winning company Blue Chip Feed, the series’ title sponsors, will also be making the decision about our All Stars, helping to choose the winner.

The lucky overall victor will be given a host of products, the chance to co-present an episode of Rudall’s Round-Up, prime position on our Horse & Country All Stars vlogging site, Blue Chip branded clothing plus a year’s sponsorship from Blue Chip Feed, which will include nutritional advice and Blue Chip products.

Every person chosen to appear on the show will win a Blue Chip Feed Balancer, Blue Chip branded clothing and a saddlecloth, a Point Two air jacket, a One K helmet, a Bucas rug, a KBF 99 grooming kit, Euro-Star Clothing, a selection of Horze horse boots, an Albion bridle and saddlecloth, and an Easibed fork and branded products – a prize package worth more than £1,000 for each rider.

Applications are open until 5pm on Wednesday 20th April – to apply, upload your audition video here.
