A man rode his horse into a train station outside London and threatened station staff when they tried to intervene.
Racial abuse
The horse and rider made an unexpected appearance at the ticket office in Windsor and Eton Riverside station in Berkshire at around 3pm 4 January.
According to the British Transport Police, staff tried to stop the man as he headed towards the railway platform.
“When challenged by a member of station staff, he racially abused them and threatened to assault them with a riding crop,” said detective constable Rod Harbron, who is leadingthe investigation.
Railway byelaws
The 32-year-old employee called police to report the incident. Officers have now released a CCTV image of the man involved.
“A busy railway station is no place for horses and rail operators have every right to refuse access to people with animals under the railway byelaws,” said DC Harbron.
“The member of staff was just doing their job and racial abuse and threats will not be tolerated.
