A rescue pony from Essex has won Supreme Champion at a county show in Hertfordshire.
Poor condition
Noel and Hayley Ward won the title at the 70thanniversary Kimpton Horse Show. It is one of many wins they have enjoyed together since Hayley adopted the Welsh X Arab from Redwings 12 years ago.
Noel was rescued in 1998 as a two-year-old, along with his companion Mistletoe. Both horses were in very poor condition having been abandoned while their owner was in prison.
Noel was rehabilitated at the Redwings’ Ada Cole rescue centre in Essex before being rehomed with Hayley when he was five. The pair has enjoyed jumping and competing together ever since.
One in a million
“Noel is one in a million,” said Hayley. “I can’t describe the pleasure I have in giving a home to this cheeky little lad. We know each other inside out and have an unbreakable bond.
“To win the Supreme at the Kimpton Horse Show was incredible. I would like to give a huge thank you to Redwings Ada Cole for giving me the opportunity to take on such a smashing pony – especially one they worked so hard to save and care for. The work they do is truly amazing.”
