Showjumping fans can watch the Rolex Grand Prix Aachen LIVE this Sunday on Horse & Country TV.
Rolex Grand Slam
The Rolex Grand Prix at CHIO Aachen is one of the premier showjumping events in the world, attracting the sport’s biggest names. Names to look out for include Scott Brash, Ben Maher, John and Michael Whitaker, Kent Farrington and Eric Lamaze.
Scott is the only rider in history to have won the Rolex Grand Slam, which is the toughest competition in showjumping – offering the biggest prize.
He claimed a €1m bonus for consecutively winning the Aachen, Spruce Meadows and Geneva Rolex Grand Prix riding Hello Sanctos.
Scott won the Rolex Grand Prix in Spruce Meadows again last year, and was four hundredths of a second away from taking the title in Geneva. Sadly Scott had to settle for second place behind Brazil’s Pedro Veniss.
Stiff competition
This means Scott is out of contention for the big bonus, but if he wins at Aachen he could still claim an incredible €250,000 bonus for winning two out of three of the Grand Slam Majors.
Pedro Veniss is now in the running for the title, but faces stiff competition from the world’s very best, including Kent Farrington, Marcus Ehning, Laura Kraut and Ludger Beerbaum. You can see the full list of riders here.
