Entries are now open for the SEIB Burghley Sponsored Ride, which takes place over the same weekend as the prestigious three-day event.
Wonderful opportunity
The yearly ride gives participants the opportunity to hack around one of the world’s most famous – and feared – cross-country tracks.
The 12km course also takes in tracks and pathways around the vast Burghley estate, providing spectacular scenery.
“This is a wonderful opportunity for riders of all levels to ride round Burghley and raise money for charity at the same time,” said SEIB marketing manager, Nicolina Mackenzie. “Importantly, 100 percent of the money raised by participants will go to charity.”
Brilliant ride
The sponsored ride takes place on the final day of the Land Rover Burghley Horse Trials (Sunday 6 September 2015).
This is the sponsored ride’s 15th year and it has raised more than £180,000 over the years.
“We are hoping the 2015 ride will be as successful as the brilliant ride in 2014 when over £15,500 was raised and over 340 riders completed the ride,” said organiser Ian Scott.
Rosette and prizes
The event is open to riders aged five years and over and the entry fee is £33 per rider.
Everyone completing the course will receive an SEIB rosette and goody bag and there will be Burghley sponsored prizes for the most money raised.
Entry forms can be downloaded from the website where you can also enter online.
